Veteran DZRH Reporter Henry Uri scrutinized the strategies of Sen. Richard Gordon and the Philippine Red Cross for their alleged face masks donations to China and shipped it right away, but questioned the importation of face masks from China to the Philippines.
According to Henry Uri, there's something wrong with the strategies of Sen. Richard Gordon, the senator who also heads the Philippine Red Cross in the country.
The veteran journalist uncovered the generous donations of Sen. Richard Gordon and the PRC to the China and even documented the incident wherein he showcased how they were able to ship out the donations to China without any problems through the help of the Bureau of Customs.
According to the journalist, last January 2020, while the Philippines was suffering from the onslaught of the devastation brought about by the pandemic, the Philippine Red Cross ordered a huge number of facemasks from local manufactures and donated it to the Chinese government.
The said face masks was worth over $1.4 million and the senator himself proudly posted his ordeal on social media.
Sen. Gordon even boasted that it only took his organization 6 hours to send all their donations to Wuhan but during the time when the Philippines was in dire need of face masks for the use of our frontliners, as a senator he questioned the importation of face masks.
Henry Uri also clarified that he has nothing against extending aid to other countries in the name of world solidarity and humanitarian aid but during natural calamity and pandemic, because even the United States and China prioritizes their own people.
The veteran journalist just wants some clarification from Sen. Gordon and his organization the reasons why he and Red Cross prioritizes China with face masks donation worth $1.4 million even when the COVID cases in the country that time was not yet alarming.
