The country's highly anticipated third telecommunications player, DITO Telecommunity revealed that they would start building physical stores in "major malls" nationwide as it gears up for the commercial launch this coming March 2021.
DITO Telecom alreay signed a deal with a major mall operator particularly SM Supermalls, where some its stores will be located as revealed by the company's top honchos.
In a virtual briefing with DITO Telecommunity official, Atty. Adel Tamano, they will be building in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao and they will surely bring DITO Telecom in the country's major malls.
Atty. Tamano was quoted as saying "We are really excited to launch the country's latest telco and newest technology that the country deserve," Atty. Tamano stated.
Meanwhile, Retired Major. General Rodolfo Santiago, DITO Telecommunity's Chief Technology Officer also revealed that the SIM Cards for its "identified" target subscribbers are also available.
Both Atty. Tamano and Gen. Santiago refused to disclose more information on its target physical stores this year and the number of available SIM cards for the launch.
"We already have our SIM cards. Enough to cover the target subscribers that our commercial team has defined," Santiago said.
DITO Telecom also noted that in terms of telto communications towers, it has exceed its first year commitment of 1,300 towers. As of October 28, the company has built 1,521 base stations, enough to meet its commitment to cover 37 percent of the population for its technical audit in January.
DITO Telecom said it aims to build some 2,000 towers by end of 2020, enough to cover 47 to 49 percent. For its second year, it committed to cover 51 percent of the population. The company went beyond its first year P150 billion expenditure. Its total P257 billion 5 year commitment might also be spent ahead of the timeline.
