Netizens Exposed the Alleged Inaccuracy of the Kapamilya Online Petition to Bring Back ABS-CBN

Netizens took to social media as they exposed the alleged inaccuracy of the controversial online petition initiated by ABS-CBN to bring back the Kapamilya Channel on air.


According to the Facebook Page Deconstructed Media 2.0 who initiated the expose regarding the ABS-CBN petition, there's no added security in the number of petitioners for the re-airing of ABS-CBN.



Based upon the initial investigation conducted by some concerned netizens, every petitioners were allowed to use multiple names in the platform created by ABS-CBN without the stringent verification process when compared to Change.org, the leading online petition platform.

Deconstructed Media and some netizens confirmed that when they tried the platform made by ABS-CBN, they discovered that no matter what names they enter, the platform will continue to record anything written by the anybody.

This could be the main reasons why it just took a day for the Kapamilya Network to gather more than a million signatures due to the alleged failures of the platform that accepted multiple names and entries.

Some netizens indeed tried to used the platform and confirmed with their own eyes that any names they entered into the said page will were easily accepted by ABS-CBN and already added to the total number of petitioners seeking for the granting of franchise to ABS-CBN.



ABS-CBN created the said page or the online petition as they called out their supporters and employees signed the petition.

To the members of the House of Representatives,

We, the employees of ABS-CBN, call for the immediate discussion and passing of the renewal of the ABS-CBN Franchise.

We are among the thousands who are worried and will be affected if ABS-CBN shuts down. We all have families who depend on our work.



We want ABS-CBN to continue its operations, not only because it serves as our main source of livelihood, but because for most of us, the company’s happy working environment and the management’s fair practices have encouraged us to continue to be in the service of the Filipino.

We believe that your compassion and care for us workers will prevail and that you will listen to our call for the good of all.
