Netizen's Brilliant Explanations on Why Pres. Duterte Did Not Ask for Foreign Donations in Mindanao Quake
A concerned netizen is now making the rounds online after he made a brilliant explanations on why Pres. Rody Duterte did not ask for any foreign donations to help the victims of the Mindanao Earthquake.
The decision of the President not to ask for foreign help is contrary to the usual norms of leaders who are asking help after a disaster struck in the country.
In the past, after a disaster struck in the Philippines, foreign donations like money and relief goods flood the country in moment's time. However, this is not the case under the leadership of Pres. Duterte.
Some critics of the Philippine President posted some negative news about the non-presence of foreign donations for the quake victims in Mindanao although China already donated P22-millin to the earthquake-ravaged Mindanao.
Concerned netizen, "The Political Labandera" made a brilliant explanations on the possible reason why Pres. Duterte isn't keen in asking for foreign help, especially donations.

Need to sit down to post this one. Pasiyencya na sa mga nakaka-notice sa mga grammatical errors ko of late. I edit when you point out my mistake. Pasiyencya na. Masama lang talaga pakiramdam ko since Saturday. Pumapalo ang blood pressure ko sa 130/100 na and nagbo-bordeline sa 60s lang ang pulse rate ko. Mababa yun for my age. Kulang oxygen ang utak ko madalas ngayon. Pasiyencya.
Anyway, madaming nagtatanong neto sa akin...I believe I already answered this in one of the convo threads, pero expound ko lang konti, "Bakit Hindi na nanghihingi foreign donations ang Duterte administration for the earthquake-affected victims in Mindanao?"
We, as a nation, need to learn to make do with what we have. And help those in need with what we can wholeheartedly give them. WALANG PILI! WALANG POLITIKA!
AYAW na ni PRRD na mag-salig (mag depende) tayo sa mga banyaga kung kaya natin mismo tumulong sa ating kapwa. We have to be self-sufficient and efficient when dealing with the aftermath of any disaster.
And PILIT INAALIS NI PRRD ANG MENDICANT MENTALITY NATIN during times of natural catastrophes. Masama ba yun? Well, according sa mga Elitistang patay-gutom sa Kabilang Parlor, masama yung hindi nanghihingi ng foreign donations...nakasanayan na kasi nila eh.
Anyway, our government's disaster response and relief operations have VASTLY IMPROVED since the time of Typhoon Yolanda. I should know, I SURVIVED THAT CATEGORY 5 CYCLONE!
Because we seem to have forgotten it, PRRD wants to bring BAYANIHAN back into our cultural consciousness. And the Old Man is on the right track.
Picture below was sent to me last night. All roads lead to MAKILALA, North Cotabato at the moment. They were the hardest hit there. And the vehicles below are our fellow Filipinos rushing to their aid.
We don't need to beg for help from other countries when we can rely on our own countrymen for aid during times of desperation and distress.
