Lawyer: Neri Colmenares, Sarah Elago & Anakbayan Leaders Could be P1M Poorer (Plus 20 Years in Jail) If Found Guilty

A veteran lawyer and prominent political analyst Atty. Trixie Cruz-Angeles shared the possibility on what will happen to Neri Colmenares, Sarah Elago and Anakbayan leaders could be P1 Million poorer plus 20 years in jail if they are found guilty of crimes filed by PNP-CIDG.

The statement of Atty. Angeles was in relation to the August 1 filing of the PNP-CIDG with the DOJ for the alleged violations of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act; the Act providing for Special Protection of Children in Situations of Armed Conflict; the Revised Penal Code provision on kidnapping; the Special Protection of Children in Situations of Armed Conflict; the Revised Penal Code provision on kidnapping; the Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act; and the Philippine Act on Crimes Against International Humanitarian Law, Genocie and Other Crimes Against Humanity.

The complaints against Neri Colmenares, Sarah Elago and other Anakbayan leaders were filed by the mother of Alicia Lucena and a rebel returnee.

For the past few years well known leaders of various protest groups were the same and some netizens were already tired of seeing these leftist leaders faces no matter who occupies the Malacanang Palace, there is a chance for now to silenced these people due to the cases filed against them.

Leftist leader Neri Colmenares already cried foul and denied the allegations thrown against them but most netizens disagreed with them due to some evidences pointing them as recruiters of missing young people. Once found guilty they could be P1 Million poorer and be jailed for 20 years.

Nuong August 1, nag file ang PNP-CIDG sa DOJ ng mga reklamo for violations of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act; the Act providing for Special Protection of Children in Situations of Armed Conflict; the Revised Penal Code provision on kidnapping; the Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act; and the Philippine Act on Crimes Against International Humanitarian Law, Genocide and Other Crimes Against Humanity.

Ano ang Trafficking of Persons?
