The former Mayor of Davao City and now considered as one of the most powerful political figures in the Philippines, Pres. Rody Duterte mocks senatorial bet Mar Roxas during the campaign rally of PDP-Laban in Zamboanga City.
During the March 3, 2019 campaign rally of Partido Demokratiko Pilipinas-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) party at the Mayor Vitaliano D. Agan Coliseum in Zamboanga City, the President criticized Roxas by saying "Ano ng nagawa niya maski isa lang? Ngayon babalik ka na naman?" the President stated.
The President who is once the fiercest rival of Mar Roxas narrated how the former DILG Secretary arrogantly acted allegedly during one of their meetings when he was still Mayor of Davao City, ignoring the LGU officials while only paying attention with the justices present during the event.
Pres. Duterte also noted that Mar Roxas cannot win against his bet and closest ally, former aide Christopher "Bong" Go this 2019 Mid-Term Elections.
"Kung yung kampanya niya (Roxas) ginawa niya the best niya, hindi siya manalo kay Bong." Pres. Duterte said.
The former Mayor of Davao City who defeated Mar Roxas with a wide margin in the 2016 Presidential race also asked the supporters of Roxas and the LP on the achievements made by their idol during his days as a public official.
“Kayong mga liberal, magtanong lang ako diyan, anong nagawa niya? anong nagawa niya na naiwan niya sa bayan? secretary of trade kay Macapagal (Arroyo), pagkatapos nong eleksyon, lukso siya kay Aquino.. secretary of Finance.. tapos secretary of communications.. tapos DILG,” Duterte said.
“Nadaanan niya naman lahat yan.. ano ang nagawa niya.. bigyan mo ko isa. Dinaanan na niya lahat. Ngayon babalik ka na naman. Ano na naman ang dadalhin mo?” he added.
After expressing criticisms of Mar Roxas, President Rody Duterte endorsed former SAP Bong Go and introduced him to the people who attended the political rally in Zamboanga City.
