Philanthropist and considered as the most popular candidate with a huge following on social media, Doctor Willi Ong, promised to donate all his salary as a lawmaker once elected as Senator of the Philippines.
In an official statement released to the official Facebook Page of Doc Willie Ong which has more than 9 million followers, he answered his critics for bashing his plans to run for a Senate seat.
Doc Willie Ong was quoted as saying "Lahat ng sweldo ko sa Senado ay ibibigay sa pasyente. Sa loob ng 25 taon ay puro medical mission at libreng gamutan kami. Itutuloy ko lang ito. Lahat ng Sweldo at allowance ko ay ibibigay sa mga dialysis patients, heart, kidney patients atbp. Para mailigtas na ang buhay nila." Doc Willie Ong stated.
The statement of the only medical practitioner running for a Senate seat, Doc Willie Ong, came out after one of his bashers doubts his sincerity to serve the people as they noted the huge perks and salaries a lawmaker allegedly get from the national government.
The veteran doctor reacted differently and with a more composed answer as he now revealed his future plans regarding his salary as a lawmaker which is to give away for free his salary for the benefits of the sick patients from different parts of the country.
