Netizens Reacts on Statement of Manila City Hall Asking Volunteers Permit to Join the Manila Bay Clean-up
Netizens took to social media as they reacted on the controversial statement released by the administrator of the City of Manila under the leadership of Mayor Joseph "Erap" Estrada.
The city government of Manila clarified reports circulating on social media that they are asking volunteer groups to secure and pay for a permit before they can help clean up Manila Bay.
City Administrator Erickson Alcovendaz said local and foreign groups have started asking how they can contribute to the cleanup.
Alcovendaz was quoted as saying "We are not asking for a fee. What we are trying to do here is for these interested groups to coordinate with the city hall so that we can arrange the schedule. We cannot just allow groups to go there because it would attract so many people. What we ask is for them to secure a permit for their activities," Alcovendaz said.
The statement of the City of Manila caught the attention of netizens on social media as they reacted on the decision of the City to issue a permit first before any groups could conduct a clean-up drive along Manila Bay.
Concerned netizen Joshua Canilao suggested that the Manila City government should install a booth within the Manila Bay area to assist the volunteers in securing permits not the other way around.
Here's Some Comments from Concerned Netizens:
Tsk tsk. Push nyo yan pero consider my suggestions..
Arvee Fajardo: What can you expect yung Mayor nyo plunderer so dapat mana mana lang ganun. Puro na kau mandarambong dyan. Per!!! Tsk tsk tsk.
Dennis F. Cabilla: Suggestion all universities and college in manila are also required to do manila bay clean up by schedule,
Pupunta ako jan my permit man o wla..my scedule man o wla.
Jak Jack So: pag nagkalat walang permit ?Pag naglinis may permit pa rin?
