Veteran historian of the De La Salle University (DLSU), Sir Van Ybiernas made a brilliant explanation on why Pres. Rody Duterte endorses more than 12 candidates for the Philippine Senate.
According to the veteran La Salle Professor, the Yellows in their dullness guffawed at this and said the old man is an idiot for endorsing more than the number of seats available.
Sir Van Ybiernas stated that there's more reasonable that people should realize that Pres. Duterte acts like he doesn't have a political party so that he will not be tied to a specific political group.
The President doesn't need to be tied but he needs their support, he also doesn't want to be held hostage by an alliance with whoever, that's the reasons why he welcomed all the non-Yellow senatorial candidates even if they numbered more than 12.
Here's the Complete Explanations of Prof. Van Ybiernas:
Why did the President endorse MORE THAN 12 candidates for the Senate?
The Yellows in their dullness guffawed at this and said the old man is an idiot for endorsing more than the number of seats available.
Pero here’s what the more reasonable people in this country must realize:
Duterte acts like he doesn’t have a political party. PDP acts like they are the president’s party but it does look like PDP is Koko’s and Panty’s party, not Duterte’s.
Hugpong is there but it’s NOT a national party and Sara is the face of that party, not Digong. Sara and Digong are going to great lengths to show people that they are two different individuals who are not tied to the hip.
What does this mean?
It means —-and this is why I sense that the Marcoses are beginning to be frustrated with the president—- that Digong doesn’t want to be tied to specific political groups. Not to the Marcoses. Not to GMA. Not to the Villars. Not to Cayetano. Not to FVR. Not to anybody.
He needs their support but he doesn’t want to be held hostage by any alliance with whoever. That’s why he welcomed all the non-Yellow candidates even if they numbered more than 12.
That’s smart if you ask me.
It guarantees the president’s independence, which he values more than anything in politics. The man is an independent through and through.
It’s also practical. It guarantees that if any of these guys win, they will be aligned with Malacanang. That’s called hedging your bets.
Smart and practical. Sounds crazy for those with insufficient brain cells but makes absolute sense to people who use their heads.
Sounds very Duterte to me.
