Thinking Pinoy made another interesting expose on social media as he revealed that during the inauguration of Apo-Cemex Naga City in 2015, former Pres. Noynoy Aquino attended the inauguration of the plant but the sad thing about the story is the fact that a few days ago, the Apo-Cemex was blamed responsible for the Naga City landslides claiming the lives of 29 individuals and still counting.
Aside from former President Noynoy Aquino, also present during the inauguration of the Apo-Cemex Naga City plant were former DILG Secretary Mar Roxas, former TESDA Chief-turned Senator Joel Villanueva and incumbent Governor Hilario Davide III.
The $67.3 Million Cement Mill at its Apo Cement Plant in Naga City Philippines is just a part of the Cemex Philippines comprehensive expansion plan in the country. The inauguration of the 3433m2 facility was held on May 1, 2015, coinciding with Philippine Labor Day celebration.
The mill increases the capacity of Cemex’s Apo Plant by 1.5Mta, resulting in an additional 40 per cent of the company’s capacity in the Philippines.
Cemex has been present in the Philippines since 1997 through its two cement plants. Apart from the ApoCement Corporation in Naga City, Cebu, Cemex also operates the Solid Cement Corporation in Antipolo City, Rizal.

Netizens were suprised with the revelations of Thinking Pinoy as htey lambasted the former President for their involvement in the said inauguration of the project that was blamed by the victims as the real culprit of the landslides in coordination with some corrupt government officials.
