One of the world's most popular tourist destination the island paradise of Boracay was closed to all tourists after Pres. Rody Duterte decided to solve the problem of the island but after 5 months from it's closure this is what what Boracay looks like nowadays.



Pres. Rody Duterte ordered the closure of country's premier tourist destinations despite numerous backlash from businessmen and his critics in order for the government to save the island.



Boracay was shut down from tourists starting last April 26, 2018 as part of the government's efforts at the island's environmental rehabilitation. The island was closed except to registered island residents and employees of its business establishments.

Despite the bad publicity presented by some news media outlets about the possible losses in terms of government's revenues and tourist interests for the island, Pres. Duterte's political will won them all and this what Boracay looks like today.

The closure of Boracay Island also provide some opportunities for the other tourist destinations in the country to showcased their beauties and various activities which leads to some economic progress in some tourist destinations not frequented by foreigners and local tourists.
