Veteran San Beda Lawyer and prominent social media personality Atty. Bruce Villafuerte Rivera explained the real situations in the controversial social media misunderstanding of Kris Aquino and Asec Mocha Uson.
According to Atty. Bruce Rivera, she is not sympathetic to either Mocha or Kris, because there is really nothing substantial to discuss but it should be clear on where did the social media confrontation between Kris and Mocha started.
The prominent Duterte supporter and veteran lawyer, Atty. Rivera wanted to make it clear that the controversy started by those who hate Pres. Duterte who had to make sure that nation will be talking about the kiss rather than the gains of the South Korea visit, which means the Dilawans drew first blood.
Asec Mocha Uson with the hellp of some combative DDS social media warriors digged up a video of Ninoy as he was being kissed by women minutes before he was gunned down, the purpose of showing the video was not to demean or even put Ninoy in bad light. It was merely to show the banality of the kiss, that it was an innocent gesture when the women kissed Ninoy in the same way it when Pres. Duterte planted that smack on another woman.
The most popular DDS blogger, Asec Mocha Uson then drew the secoond blood and made a controversial statements causing the ire of Kris Aquino, who felt the former opened old wounds and made her re-live the pain again as she took offense of the lack of respect for her parents and challenged Asec Mocha Uson through a social media post.
Here's the Complete Explanations of Atty. Bruce Rivera:
WE ARE A NATION OF DRAMA QUEENS
Let me make it clear. I am not sympathetic to either Mocha or Kris. It is futile to take any side because if we just take away all the drama and bullshit, there is really nothing substantial to discuss.
Let me be blunt.
It started because those who hate PRD had to make sure the nation will be talking about the kiss rather than the gains of the South Korea state visit. Yes, Dilawans drew first blood.
In the usual combative nature of the DDS, someone digged up a video of Ninoy as he was being kissed by women minutes before he was gunned down in the tarmac. The purpose of showing the video was not to demean or even put Ninoy in a bad light. It was merely to show the banality of the kiss. That it was an innocent gesture when the women kissed Ninoy in the same way it when Duterte planted that smack on another woman.
ASec Mocha, in her usual fighting stance drew second blood and made very controversial statements causing the ire of Kris Aquino, who felt the former opened old wounds and made her re-live the pain again. Kris also took offense at the lack of respect for her parents who have already passed on, by this unwarranted showing of the video and comparing Ninoy to PRD.
As a result, SAP Bong Go had to apologize for Asec Uson, which for me left a bad taste in my mouth because why would Go apologize for Uson? Is it not Uson’s prerogative to apologize to Kris?
And is it really such a mortal sin for Mocha to make Ninoy an example or modicum of behaviour in order to justify PRD’s kiss? Let us be honest, Mocha and I are not really friends. In fact, I have openly declared my disgust for her actions in Kuwait. But Kris is blowing her issues out of proportion.
Nobody was dishonoring Ninoy with the release of the videos. It was an homage to how he was loved by the Filipinos the same way PRD is loved today. If she felt insulted Ninoy was compared to PRD, then that is something she had to live with. Kris should understand that while she may feel the pain of remembrance, her parents are not only political figures but part of a historical narrative subject to different perspectives.
What Kris has to deal with and should not be overly dramatic about it, is the very fact that to some people, her parents may not be the heroes they are made out to be. She should understand that when the EDSA Revolution demonized Marcos, dishonored the same even after his death when her mother and brother refused to bury his body, it was bound to happen to her parents.
When the LP can openly call Marcos as “not a hero”, Kris should not be as emotional when the same attack is launched on her.
You see, I am not a Marcos supporter and I am not a fan of the Aquinos either. But, Kris should have taken into consideration how BBM, Imee and Irene felt before she began her drama queen rant and acted as if she was the only victim in this game.
In this world, where we know who the bullies are, I have no sympathy for bullies who act like victims and bullies who do not have the humility to apologize.
Sorry, but somebody has to say it.
