An estimated US$1 Trillion worth of Natural Gas was discovered in Liguasan Marsh in Maguindanano according to Maguindanao Representative Zajid Mangudadatu. The discovery of natural gas in Mindanao could put the province of Maguindanao as the next Dubai in terms of natural resources.
In an earlier interview with DZMM, Maguindanao Rep. Zajid Mangudadatu revealed that there were already three Barangays already benefited from the discovered methane gas found in Lake Buluan and Liguasan Marsh starting from the year 2013.

Rep. Mangudadatu distributed gas burners to use the natural gas in the area. Based upon the initial assessments of some experts, the natural gas found in Liguasan Marsh holds billions of dollars worth in natural resources.
The vast reservoir of natural gas can be found in Liguasan Marsh, a 220,000 hectares of land which lies along the provinces of North Cotabato and Mindanao. According to Moro National Liberation Front Chairman Nur Misuari, the Americans who estimated the earnings from the natural gas of Liguasan once explored will amount $580 billion (P30-Trillion).
In the latest video presented by Rep. Mangudadatu he revealed that the natural gas was discovered by accident by some fishpond workers on Lake Buluan, who were looking for fresh drinking water, but they found methane gas instead on their search for fresh water.
Rep. Zajid "Dong" Mangudadatu, Congressman of 2nd District of Maguindanao Province stated that the methane gas in Liguasan Marsh was discovered last October 27, 2013. The discovered natural gas was already used by the residents of the area for cooking purposes, heating and lighting.
According to Rep. Mangudadatu, this year communities around the lake are using the 24/7 gas supply. The estimated natural gas reserve of the Liguasan Marsh is at 583 billion barrel worth US$ 1 Trillion. Rep. Dong hopes that all of Mindanao and all Filipinos would benefit from this generous gift from nature.
