Controversial lawmaker, Senator Risa Hontiveros of Akbayan Partylist, through its Rep. Tom Villarin, and some members of the Liberal Party will file an impeachment cases against the eight associate justices of the Supreme Court who voted in favor of the Quo Warranto Petition against Atty. Maria Lourdes Sereno.
According to Thinking Pinoy the plans of Akbayan Partlyist and the Liberal Party's plans to impeach the eight (8) Supreme Court Justices will backfire gloriously.
Thinking Pinoy stated that Akbayan Partylist Rep. Tom Villarin who once served as Mar Roxas' right-hand guy during the DILG stint of the former Presidential race. Tom Villarin is also allegedly the mastermind behind the controversial #NasaanAngPangulo PR campaign, which attempted to pin all the blame over over the Mamasapano Massacre to President Noynoy Aquino in order to protect Roxas' presidential ambitions.

Thinking Pinoy noted that assuming the 8 cases will prosper and they will be able to covict the eight justices, then it will become a very hilarious situation that would imply the following:
First, Pres. Duterte still chooses the prospective replacements; Second, the dates of mandatory retirement aren't favorable to Villarin's plans; Third, Gesmundo's removal still means Pres. Duterte chooses his replacements; and Fourth, Removing Peralta means more Duterte SC appointees.
Thinking Pinoy summed up by saying that "If Villarin's impeachment plans completely prosper, then 12 out of 15 Supreme Court Justices will be Duterte appointees, instead of just 10.
