Ineki Araneta, Cousin of Mar Roxas Arrested by CIDG for Alleged Illegal Drug Trafficking in Boracay

A controversial and allegedly powerful figure in the Visayas, Ineki Araneta, cousin for former Presidentiable and DILG Secretary Mar Roxas was reportedly arrested by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) for alleged illegal drug trafficking activities in the island of Boracay.

The report only surfaced on social media after DDS Pages and DDS bloggers posted the photo and mugshot of Ineki Araneta on various DDS Pages and DDS blogger's profile.



Ineki Araneta y Llamas is also known for his nickname, Juan Ignacio Araneta y Llamas.

Based upon the mugshot photo posted on social media, the suspect was arrested last May 16, 2018 but the mainstream media in the Philippines failed to report the incident.

Some residents from Aklan stated on various social media posts that the arrest of Ineki Araneta is considered as a hot news in Aklan but they wondered why there's no report by the mainstream media particularly the bigger news outlets such as ABS-CBN and GMA News.
