Spox Harry Roque Burns Reporters for Misleading Inquiry About the ICC Issue Against Pres. Duterte

A member of the Malacanang Press Corps was burned down by Spokesperson Harry Roque after her misleading inquiry about the issues involving President Rody Duterte with the International Criminal Court.

The reporter asked if Spox Roque was discussing about the case of the President in the ICC but Spox Roque vehemently denied the issue and explained that there is no case against the President in the ICC, because the international court only gives a communication and there's no case against the chief executive.

Spox Roque was quoted as saying "Hindi po yan kaso, it's a communication. Wala pong kaso pa, because there is only a preliminary examination, they may think they have indicted the President, that's so wrong, they wish," Roque stated.

The Presidential spokesperson, who is also an international lawyer, explained that there's no one who should go to ICC but the Embassy in The Hague will communicate the fact that the war against drugs is a sovereign act, and that our sovereign consent to become a member of the court is subject to the rule of complimentarity.

Spox Roque added further "Our courts are more than able and willing to exercise jurisdiction and in fact there's a pending complaint against the killings allegedly attributed to the war on drugs pending at the office of the Ombudsman, and that the office of the Ombudsman to recommend an impeachment," Roque stated.
