Jay Sonza Explains the Importance of Media Accreditation & Lectures Rappler's Arrogance Against Malacanang

Veteran columnist and former TV News presenter Jay Sonza explained the importance of media accreditation among bonafide members of the mainstream media and the reasons why it is considered as a primary requirement in covering head of states.

According to Sonza, media accreditation is needed because of security consideration and to properly identify the official media representative of a legitimate media organization or be recognized as a social media blogger.

Jay Sonza noted that in most parts of the world the same system applies and in the case of Rappler and Pia Ranada, the company has been stripped of its business recognition for violation of the Philippine Constitution by SEC. In other words, Rappler is no longer a legitimate media outlets which also includes their representative in the person of Pia Ranada.

Here's the Complete Statement of Jay Sonza:

PARA MALAMAN NG LAHAT
Covering heads of states require media accreditation.
The rationale, foremost of which is the security consideration.
Second of all, you have to be properly identified as the official media representative of a legitimate media organization or under the new media age, at the very least you have to be accredited or invited as a recognized social media blogger.

In the case of PIA RANADA, her "media company," RAPPLER, has been stripped of its business recognition for violation of the Philippine Constitution by SEC.

Covering the President is not a right, IT IS A PRIVILEGE granted to legitimate media outfit, especially the respectable ones.
