R. Tiglao Reveals the Reasons Why the Yellow Cult Continue its Attack Against Palawan Gov. Reyes

Veteran political analyst and journalist of The Manila Times Rigoberto Tiglao revealed the possible reasons why the Yellow Cult or the Liberal Party aligned news media outlets keeps on attacking former Palawan Governor Joel Reyes despite the decision of the Court of Appeals dropping his murder case.

According to R. Tiglao, he believe that the former Palawan Governor Reyes is innocent on the murder of Palawan broadcaster Dr. Gerry Ortega in January 2011. He revealed that based on his studied opinion borne of research is that he was a victim of the alliance of a political overlord with an oligarch, in connivance with officials of the past Yellow regime.

Tiglao explained that his decision to side with Gov. Reyes did not came out only after the Court of Appeals Special Division's January 4, 2018 decision to drop the murder case against Reyes, but on the grounds that the sole accuser's claim were "riddled with inconsistencies."

The former envoy to the Middle East, R. Tiglao noted that he had the same conclusion seven years ago, when Reyes was first accused of the crime as he explained it on his May 4, 2011 article published in the the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

In order to shed light to the issue involving the former Palawan Governor, R. Tiglao reproduced his article in the latest issue of The Manila Times.

Tiglao noted that the powerful Philippine Daily Inquirer at that time condemned Reyes in a ruthless trial by publicity. One of Inquirer's reporter who returned to Palawan as the paper's correspondent spewed so many articles portraying Reyes as a cold-blooded murderer, and claimed that Tiglao was a paid hack.

The PDI reporter never disclosed that his book on Palawan was at that time being heavily financed by former Puerto Princesa Mayor Edward Hagedorn, Reyes' political arch-enemy. The PDI and now Rappler, another Yellow media, obviously haven't dropped their campaign against Reyes as shown in its recent frontpages.

Aside from PDI and Rappler, R. Tiglao also identified detained senator Leila De Lima, the former DOJ Secretary and now Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque who volunteered as a lawyer of the Ortega family as two of the top officials were allegedly involved in the controversial case of former Palawan Governor Joel Reyes.
