Must Watch: Pres. Duterte Refuses Photo Ops with Dummy Checks as Cash Assistance Given to Albay LGUs

The tough-talking President from Mindanao, Pres. Rody Duterte made another unexpected gestures during the handing over of an initial P20 million cash assistance to the LGUs of Albay as he refused to take a photo ops with the huge dummy check supposed to be presented by the President to Albay LGUs.


According to Pres. Duterte he don't want anybody to do the same gestures of presenting a huge check and even ordered to immediately cut the huge checks.

Pres. Duterte was quoted as saying ""Do not do it in my time. Nakokornehan ako nyan. Kayo ang namulitika dyan pera naman nila yan..... do not do it again...cut! cut it! I do not like it"

During the presentation of the original checks to Albay Governor Al Francis Bichara, Pres. Duterte noted that he will give an initial P20 million and it will be augmented by another P50 million the next day.

Pres. Duterte stated that the initial P20 million funding is allotted for food, sanitation and other immediate needs of Albay residents who were affected by the series of Mayon Volcano eruption in the past weeks.

Aside from the P20 million check, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) also handed over P5 million assistance ot the province of Albay which is now under Alert level 4, meaning a hazardous explosion may still take place.

The Chief Executive stressed that aside from relief goods, it is also important to provide the evacuees with clean toilets for sanitation purposes and to prevent the spread of diseases.
