Gallup Poll Results: Philippines is the Third (3rd) Happiest Country in the World for 2017

The Philippines made headlines anew in the world stage, this time around for good amid numerous attack by some news media outlets discrediting Pres. Duterte's leadership. According to latest Gallup pool results, the Philippines placed third among the Ten Happiest Countries in the World for 2017.


Based on the survey results released by Gallup International, the Philippines ranked third happiest country according to a survey on 55 countries covering the period of October to December last year.

The Philippines received a net score of +84, which is just below by a few points compared to top scorer Fiji at +94 and Colombia's +87. Following the Philippines in the Top 10 Happiest Country in the world are Mexico, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, India, and Argentina and The Netherlands.



Meanwhile the Top 10 Unhappy Countries in the world with a net score of +5 is Iran, followed by neighboring country Iraq. Ranking at third place up to Top 10 are Ukraine, Greece, Moldova, Brazil, Hong Kong, South Africa, Turkey, and Ghana.

Among the Top 10 Optimists, Kosovo and the Philippines placed eighth and ninth with each having a net score of +40. In the Economic Optimism Index, the Philippines place fifth in its economic outlook toward the New Year, with a net score of +32 (optimists +42 over pessimists +10).

The good news about the Philippines being ranked at the Third Spot in the Happiest Country in the World Poll by Gallup, reached Malacanang Palace as they released an official statement regarding the good news.


Presidential Spokesperson Harry L. Roque Jr. said in part about the latest poll: "Hope about the country's economic prosperity and hope about the new year can be attributed to the palpable change in our people have felt under the leadership of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte."

Spox Roque added further that "Our economy is one of the fastest growing in the region. The local stock market ended the last trading day of 2017 in an all time-high. Board of Investments-approved investments are record-breaking. The government decisively liberated Marawi.
