Former Vice Presidential candidate and now Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) lambasts the tabloid newspaper Abante for their alleged hatchet job against the head of the DFA.
In the front page of Abante, an article allegedly accused Sec. Cayetano that the OFWs were milked by the controversial passport appointment. The article states that allegedly the botched passport appointment system.
According to the Abante article despite the fact that the DFA tried their best to make the processing of passport faster but their efforts were all in vain under the leadership of Cayetano.
Abante reported that as their proof the January slot of the appointment system is already full for the renewal and application of passport which affected a number of OFWs whose only way is to hire some fixers that allegedly thrives under the leadership of the present DFA chief.
Sen. Cayetano denied all the allegations against his office and clarified that it is impossible for him to milked the OFWs in getting their passports or in the renewal of the said documents.
The former senator clarified that OFWs don't need any appointment because they have their own express lane and even if those first time OFWs, they are now included in the express lane and there's no need for an appointment.
Here's the Complete Explanation of DFA Sec. Cayetano:
Dear Abante,
Thank you for the front page hatchet job.
May sarili silang express lane. Pati first time OFWs kasama na din sa express lane. No appointments needed.
