CJ Maria Lourdes Sereno Obtains the Lowest Approval & Trust Rating Among Government Officials

Controversial Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines, Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno obtained the Lowest Approval and Trust Rating among the government's highest officials in the recently concluded December 2017 survey of Pulse Asia.


Among the highest Philippine government officials, CJ Sereno, the chief justice who was appointed by former Pres. Aquino obtained the highest disapproval and distrust ratings, with 26% and 33% respectively, according to Pulse Asia survey which was released on Monday morning.

The Pulse Asia survey ratings of CJ Sereno is in contrast with the survey results on Pres. Rody Duterte who only got 7 percent and 6 percent in disapproval and distrust ratings.



Pulse Asia said in its media release that "(A)mbivalence is the plurality sentiment toward her performance (40%) while practically the same percentages of Filipinos either distrust her or express indecision on the matter of trusting or distrusting her (33% versus 38%)," the Pulse Asia said in its media release.

The nationwide survey conducted from December 10-15, and 17 last year was based on a sample of 1,200 representatives, using face-to-face interviews. It has a plus-minus three percent sampling error for national percentages.

CJ Sereno got the biggest distrust and disapproval ratings among the ABC class at 38% and 30% respectively.
