The Department of Justice under the leadership of Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre has issued an immigration lookout bulletin for former Pres. Aquino (PNoy), former Cabinet Secretaries Florencio Abad, Paquito Ochoa, Janette Garin and officials of Sanofi Pasteur the maker of the controversial Dengvaxia vaccine.
The DOJ's lookout bulletin was released to the media after parents of children who were administered with the Dengvaxia vaccine filed a case against them before the Office of the Ombudsman.
Justice Secretary Aguirre signed and released the lookout bulletin on Saturday evening. The bulletin instruct Immigration officers to monitor individuals on the list, but does not necessarily bar them from exiting the Philippines.
The bulletin issued by the DOJ or the lookout order comes after parents of children who received the controversial Dengvaxia vaccine, assisted by the Gabriela party-list, filed on Friday a graft complaint against the officials.
Former President Aquino and his former Cabinet members have been criticized over the seemingly hasty implementation of the P3.5 billion dengue vaccination program.
PNoy and his Cabinet members have denied any irregularities in the purchase of the controversial Dengvaxia vaccine. Aquino also attended a Committee hearing investigating the Dengvaxia issue to shed light on the controversy.
The bulletin stated "Considering the gravity of the possible offenses which may have been committed, there is a strong probability that they may attempt to place themselves beyond the reach of the legal processes of the government by leaving the country," the bulletin said.
Former Pres. Benigno S. Aquino III is now facing graft complaint together with former Health Secretary Janette Garin. Aside from the said case, Aquino and Garin were also slapped with charges of mass murder and plunder over the controversial dengue vaccine program.
