Pro-Duterte Supporters Lauds Thai Journalist for Truthful Analysis of Pres. Duterte's Role as ASEAN's Chairman
Pro-Duterte supporters and some popular social media bloggers in the Philippines lauded the write-ups of BangkokPost reporter for his truthful analysis of Pres. Duterte's huge success as chairman of this year's ASEAN.
The Thai journalist Kavi Chongkittavorn was lauded by numerous number of Duterte supporters for presenting facts and in-depth analysis of Pres. Rody Duterte's leadership as this year's Chairman of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
According to the veteran international author Chongkittavorn, Pres. Duterte "has upended regional diplomacy and his country's ties with major powers. He puts Asean on the map on par with superpowers during the past 429 days."
The Thai journalist stated that "Pres. Duterte has shifted politics in the region, by default or design, as no Asean leaders have done before. He did not follow any rules and remained unpredictable throughout his Asean chairmanship."
Pres. Duterte, despite the verdict on the South China Sea conflict by the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) in favour of the Philippines, Pres. Duterte decided to play the outcome the way he wanted to -- by befriending China to the bewilderment of his country, allies and friends.
