Hollywood Actor Steven Seagal Pays Courtesy Call with Pres. Duterte, Scouts for Location in the Philippines

Veteran Hollywood action star and considered as one of the most popular actor in the world, Steven Seagal pays a courtesy call with Pres. Rody Duterte as he discussed his intentions of looking some possible locations for his upcoming movie about illegal drugs and other crimes.



Pres. Rody Duterte received the Hollywood action star on October 12, 2017 as he was accompanied by former Ilocos Sur governor and businessman Luis "Chavit" Singson. The veteran actor is reportedly in the Philippines to scout for a possible location of his new movie.

During the courtesy call of the 65-year-old Steven Seagal, the President told Seagal that movies are a reflection of life and the President reiterated his strong stance against illegal drugs because it enslaves people to form of synthetic chemical.

The 72-year-old Pres. Duterte also revealed during his discussions with Seagal that he used to have karate lessons during his younger days.

Pres. Duterte also noted during the courtesy call made by Steven Seagal that drug trade and production devasted many societies in Latin America, particularly Mexico, and he don't want the Philippines to suffer the same fate.

Prior to meeting Steven Seagal, President Duterte received artist Freddie Luna Cruz.

Cruz, the great grandson of national artist Juan Luna, presented a portrait of the President, which he painted last year when the Chief Executive assumed office. The artist was accompanied by Presidential Consultant for Education Jose David Lapuz.
