DSWD Asec Lambasts BBC News for a Controversial Spin Against Pres. Duterte's War on Drugs

Assistant Secretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Asec Lorraine Marie T. Badoy lambasts the controversial spin and twists of the news report presented by one of the world's leading news outlet BBC on their portrayal of the new drug rehab facility provided by the administration of Pres. Duterte for the victims of illegal drugs in the Philippines.

According to Asec Badoy there's an alleged blatant attempt at reframing the President's noble and courageous efforts at ending a scourge that has held our country captive so that we've become a narco-state.

The controversial drug war of Pres. Duterte was overwhelmingly supported and approved by majority of Filipinos but BBC News tried to twists some important issues about the drug war.

Asec Badoy questioned BBC's way of reporting, because out of all the possible ways to see the drug facilty in Fort Magsaysay, BBC allegedly presented a different angly.

The veteran doctor noted that the BBC could have said, "A new place of hope," "A country rebuilding itself despite the huge challenges," or "The Only Philippine President who has taken on this problem where other presidents before him looked away."

Instead of reporting positively for the Philippines, BBC News chose to published "For those who've escaped Rody Duterte's bloody drug war" "It is a drug rehab facility."

Here's the Complete Statement of DSWD Asec Lorraine Marie T. Badoy:

Pretty interesting spin by the BBC News.

Yeah, at first glance, it enrages.
But the dust settles pretty quick with me when I'm faced with such a blatant attempt at reframing the President's noble and courageous efforts at ending a scourge that has held our country captive so that we've become a narco-state.

A drug war, by the way, that an OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of Filipinos support and approve of.
Why, out of all the possible ways to see this drug rehab facility in Fort Magsaysay, has BBC chosen that one sliver in the pie of possibilities?

They could have said, "A new place of hope" (because this is what it is).
"A country rebuilding itself despite the huge challenges." (Because this is what we're doing)
"The only Philippine president who has taken on this problem where other presidents before him looked away." (Because this is the truth. Even his enemies would have to agree.)
And yet, this is what BBC chose:
"For those who've escaped Rody Duterte's bloody drug war"
It is a DRUG REHAB FACILITY, YOU NINNIES! What they've escaped from was a deadly addiction that takes away everything good in your life!
Why did the BBC choose that particular spin?

Are they invested in keeping us under the death grip of international drug cartels and narcopoliticians? That's what it looks like to me.
Parang samang-sama ang loob nila that we are winning this war somehow.
If so, why?

Who is behind your poison, BBC, that you would want my country to fail and forever be chained by this menace?
Ang babastos din ng mga putanginang to no?
(Nangawit ako kakapanggap na cool lang ako.)
