The tough-talking President of the Philippines burns Sen. Risa Hontiveros on her statement about the alleged "killing policy" of the Duterte admin as he reminded the lawmaker of the silence of her party on the issues of illegal drugs and killings during the Aquino administration.
Pres. Duterte responds to the accusations of Sen. Risa Hontiveros about the alleged controversial "killing policy" of the administration after the successive cases of deaths involving policemen in Caloocan City.
The cases of Kian delos Santos and Carl Angelo Arnaiz were used by Sen. Hontiveros to make a statement that there's an alleged policy of the Duterte administration which was also the reason why the PNP Chief, Gen. Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa broke down and cried during the Senate hearing.
According to Pres. Duterte in an ambush interview with the media after the 55th anniversary celebration of the Metrobank held at Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City, he wanted to asked Hontiveros if she has all the necessary evidences and basis that the two cases of deaths were enough to be considered that there's a "killing policy" under the Duterte admin.
Pres. Duterte also noted that the reasons why the PNP Chief cried during the Senate hearing was due to the fact that Gen. Dela Rosa was hurt with the accusations thrown at him by Hontiveros.
The President castigated Sen. Hontiveros for her silence during the previous administration despite the presence of enormous killings and illegal drug activities, because she is a member of the administration's Liberal Party.
The former Mayor of Davao City also noted that Sen. Hontiveros was also silent during the Bulacan massacre, the senator never made any statements or cried for the victims which is clearly a sign that the senator only pursued for her political advantage.
Here's the Complete Statement of Pres. Duterte:
“No. I think he’s hurt that ‘yung policy na — itong pangalawang namatay. Do you think two killings, even if it’s illegal, would make a policy? Dalawang patay. Palagay na natin, pinatay — murder o… I asked Hontiveros."
“Is that already a policy? Is that the baseline of a policy?” Paka-bobo naman niya. Kaya umiyak ‘yung tao nga eh. It’s an insult na sabihin it’s a policy of the police to kill. There are so many criminal minds, even in the Liberal Party. Sila, the record of plunder and also killing, you make a comparison. ‘Yung sa kanila, ‘yung killings noon, well, hindi, because it’s not… Wala, pulis takot, wala."
"Even the drugs, they were all silent. So, when I became President, sinabi ko sa Pilipino, “This is how widespread the drug is.” Wala man silang…Bakit ba? ‘Yung limang pinatay doon sa Bulacan, na pati ‘yung one-year-old na bata pinakialaman, pinatay. Why is that… Why don’t I hear… I do not hear her crying or even complaining that the police are not doing enough."
"Tapos, they pick up… Eleksyon eh. Politika. They’re crazily into it. And even before the elections, may assignment ‘yan siya. She was assigned with a group, I would not name them now. But, nakuha ko ‘yang mga conversations nila,"
