Mocha Uson Reveals the Possible Reasons Why Rappler Needs Donations for "Free & Fearless" Journalism
Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson revealed the possible reasons why Rappler, one of the country's leading news outlet during the Aquino admin, needs funding for their alleged "Free and Fearless" journalism.
According to Mocha Uson on her latest social media post to her more than 5 million followers, the once powerful Rappler is no longer relevant in social media due to their dwindling engagement on Facebook based on the statistics shared by Uson.
Based upon the Facebook statistics and insights, Rappler who has more than 3.5 million followers on Facebook got only around 217K engagement when compared to Mocha Uson's 2.3 million engagement from her 5.3 million followers.
Rappler was even behind ThinkingPinoy, Maharlika, and Sass Rogando Sasot who had engagement of 542K, 368K and 617K despite the fact that the followers of TP, Maharlika and Sass were below 1 million.
Even Rappler's copy-cat Crabbler FB Page who keeps on ridiculing Rappler has a higher engagement at around 273K.
According to Rappler on their official statement about the supposed fund, they don't want just give you the news but they aim to promote critical thinking, self-reflection, and empathy to encourage informed decision-making.
Netizens are encouraged by Rappler to donate for them as they noted that you can help them stay free and independent of political pressure and commercial interests.
Meanwhile, Here's the Complete Statement of Mocha Uson:
