Police Chief Inspector (PCI) Jovie Espenido revealed during an interview with ANC hosted by Karen Davila that he urged the Parojinog Familes to surrender drugs before the controversial raid that led to the death of Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog and captured of Vice Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog.
According to PCI Espenido, he asked the Vice Mayor of Ozamiz City to surrender the drugs and even told the Vice Mayor that he knew of Parojinog's relationship wth inmate Herbert Colangco.

During the interview, the former Albuerra Police Chief was quoted as saying "Walang takutan tayo. Si Vice Mayor sinabi ko 'May relasyon ka kay Ambang, so sa drugs. Dapat i-surrender mo na lang yung drugs na nandito,'" he told ANC in an exclusive interview.
The Ozamiz City Police Chief, PCI Espenido also revealed during an interview that there are two police stations in Marawi City during the time of Mayor Parojinog. The first police station is headed by Espenido while the second police station is located in Lawis, which is known as Police Ni Parojinog (PNP).
PCI Espenido also alleged that Councilor Ricardo "Ardot" Parojinog, brother of the slain Marawi CityMayor, is a local crime lord.
Espenido revealed that "Siya yung ay may hawak ng yung martilyo gang, yung salisi, lahat ng mga gang gang na ganun, mga kidnap for ransom. Siya ang may hawak ng tao," he said.
The Marawi City Mayor added further that "Ipa-surrender ko sa kanya yung mga warranted person, tsaka stop na talaga yung robbery, yung mga sabi natin na holdup," he added. Ricardo is still at large and has been placed in an immigration lookout bulletin.
