The highly publicized "Himagsikan #JusticeForKian" rally which coincides with the Ninoy Aquino Day on August 21, 2017 failed miserably after they weren't able to amass thousands of protesters.
Some youth groups, human rights organizations and religious communities trooped to EDSA People Power Monument in Quezon City on Monday - the 34th anniversary of the late Sen. Ninoy Aquino - to call for an end to killings in the Philippines.

During the said protest event, protesters chanted "Sigaw ng taumbayan: itigil and patayan!" for their rally dubbed "Himagsikan #JusticeForKian."
At around 6:00 PM, the crowd was relatively small at around 6:00 PM, maybe because of the Tropical Storm Isang that brought light rains in different parts of Metro Manila.
