Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Director General Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa confirmed to the media that the assignment of former Ozamiz City Police Chief, Police Chief Inspector Jovie Espenido will start immediately or will start today, August 29, 2017 as ordered by no less than Pres. Rody Duterte.
According to Gen. Dela Rosa, the assignment of PCI Espenido to Iloilo City is ASAP or as soon as possible based upon the command of the President of the Republic.
The PNP Chief explained further that the new assignment of PCI Jovie Espenido to Iloilo City is considered as a presidential directive while the previous re-assignment of Espenido in Albuera, Leyte and in Ozamiz City was mandated by the PNP Chief.
Gen. Dela Rosa, who is considered as one of the most trusted men of the chief executive noted that Espenido's new assignment to Iloilo City is a welcome development to determine the real extent of illegal drugs in the City.
The President himself stated that the former Ozamiz City Police Chief is a worthy officer to be assigned to Iloilo City and proved once and for all that the government will succeed on their war against illegal drugs in the city which was once dubbed by the President as the most "shabulized city in the Philippines."
PCI Espenido for his part could not do anything after Pres. Duterte decided to re-assigned him to Iloilo City, all he can do is to turn-over to an able officer the jobs that he will be left behind in Ozamiz City because of the fact that the illegal activities in Ozamiz are not fully neutralized.
