Former Interior Secretary Rafael Alunan shares a very interesting meme on social media revealing how the ghosts of former Chief Justice Renato Corona haunts the once powerful Liberal Party of the Philippines.
According to the former DILG Secretary, "The law is what I say it is," as he shared the meme originally posted by VOVPh showing how the ghost of the late Renato Corona is now haunting the Liberal Party.
VOVPh explained that when the Liberal Party impeached Chief Justice Renato Corona, they lowered the bar for impeachment as they considered the act of misdeclaration in a statement of assets, liabilities and net worth, or SALN, on the same level as a culpable violation of the Constitution, and as amounting to a betrayal of public trust.
The meme explained further that the only problem is that the LP did not anticipate that the ghost of Renato Corona would come back to haunt them.
Raffy Alunan on his part also added that the "sense of entitlement, of being above the law that fans impunity, is finite when power changes hands. But it's what wrecks the state of the nation and tears its ethical fabric," Alunan said.
