A concerned netizen took to Facebook to share the difference between the Office of the President headed by Pres. Duterte and the Office of the Vice President (OVP) headed by VP Leni Robredo with regards to "Freedom of Information."
According to Ms. Joy Jimenez in a Facebook post, last April 21, 2017, Rappler's controversial reporter Pia Ranada filed an FOI request on the list of expenses incurred by the Philippine government for all of Pres. Rody Duterte's foreign trips and the request was SUCCESSFUL.
The successful request of Pia Ranada means that the information about the incurred expenses of Pres. Duterte was released to Ranada in compliance with the FOI's mandate of giving accurate and detailed information to its citizens.
Six days later on April 15, 2017, an ordinary citizen Howard Joseph Hontanosas filed the same request to the Office of the President of the Philippines, VP Leni Robredo and the results of the request was DENIED.
