COA Found Sen. Pangilinan's PDAF Transactions from 2007 to 2009 Questionable

Sen. Francisco "Kiko" Pangilinan is now under fire after the Commission on Audit (COA) found several transactions of his anomalous Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) or pork barrel from 2007 to 2009 questionable.

COA released the 462-page report showing projects in Quezon City by Sen. Pangilinan, which shows that it doesn't have any documentary support and have been transacted questionably.

The report noted that P7.3 million from Sen. Pangilinan's PDAF were used for the procurement of "Barangay office Equipment" for at least 17 barangays in Quezon City. The procurement of the said projects were not allegedly supported by proper documents, lack of official receipts or proofs of bidding.

Aside from the controversial P7.3 million PDAF of Sen. Pangilinan, the report also showed that another P1.063 million of the senator's pork barrel were used to bought the needs of a barangay in Quezon City such as Apple Macbook laptop, a Nikon DSLR camera, a laminating machine, Sharp DVD Player, Sony Digital Camera, 19" Samsung LCD monitor among others.

After COA's audit, they found that the gadgets brought were unaccounted, missing or defective when they saw the photographs of the items.

COA also found out another anomaly using Sen. Pangilinan's PDAF, they discovered that Sen. Kiko paid Superjie Trading, a supplier that found "not legally nor physically existing."

According to COA's explanations, Barangay Projects worth P1-M were neither announced in public for sake of transparency nor proven with project documents such as receipts, invitation to bid or contract agreements.

A feeding program and distribution of medicines worth half a million pesos funded by Pangilinan’s DAP might also not occurred according to COA.

COA also reported that a livelihood project of Sen. Pnagilinan in Batasan Hills had also no proof of implementation.

Due to the controversies mired against Sen. Pangilinan, his wife Sharon Cuneta took to social media and defended Pangilinan explaining that all of the pork barrel funds of the senator were spent correctly.
