The Philippine Azkals defeated fellow Southeast Asian neighbor, HongKong National Football Team for the very first time since the 1950's proving that they were indeed a top seeded team in Southeast Asia.
The lone goal of the Philippine National Football Team was courtesy of James Younghusband who scored a header at around 33rd minutes from a deflected attempt made by Stephan Schrock.
Aside from the remarkable goal of James, his eight international goal for the Philippines, Fulham goalkeeper Neil Etheridge stood strong and made a clean sheet to secure the win against HongKong.
The Philippine Azkals is currently preparing for the 2014 AFC Challenge Cup to be held in Maldives, to try to secure a spot in the upcoming 2015 Asian Cup to be held in Australia against the best Asian teams.
