Veteran Lawyer Lambasts Raissa Robles for Comparing Marawi Incident with Luneta & Mamasapano Incident

Veteran lawyer and a well-known supporter of Pres. Rody Duterte, Atty. Bruce Villafuerte Rivera lambasts writer Raissa Robles for comparing how Pres. Duterte handled the Marawi crisis to the way Pres. Aquino handle the Luneta bus hostage and Mamasapano incident's death toll.

Raissa Robles took to Twitter and shared the following statement "Luneta bus hostage death toll 9; Mamasapano death toll 68; Marawi death toll 429, but still counting."

The statement of the veteran writer Raissa Robles did not sit well with Atty. Bruce Rivera who called on the attention of AFP Chief of Staff General Lieutenant General Eduardo Año and the Filipino public for comparing the Luneta and Mamasapano incident's death toll to the Marawi incident.

Atty. Rivera explained on his Facebook account that the Luneta Hostage under Pres. PNoy is the results of the failures in rules of engagement, while the Mamasapano incident, former Pres. Aquino allegedly used the PNP-SAF as bait to capture the Malaysian terrorist.

Here's the Complete Statement of Atty. Rivera:

To: GENERAL ANO (AFP Chief) and the Filipino people,

In short, they should not have died. Worst, they died knowing they were betrayed by their Commander in Chief who could not even give them a heroes welcome.

The Aquino leadership made very glaring faux-pas. Sa Luneta, a little more time and the lone hostage taker-would have just given up. Or a sniper would have taken him out. Pero nagmadali si Pnoy. Hassle sa schedule niya. Check the tapes, Raissa. Kaya nga nagalit ang Hong Kong and to make matters worse, ayaw mag-apologize ni BS Aquino.

And Mamasapano. First, why send the police to do something that is within the technical expertise of the AFP. Bakit kailangan ineutralize ang terrorista agad-agad? Wala namang inmediate threat. Isolated ang lugar to begin with.

General, please tell this ogre how they died and how they should not have. They died because the leaders supposed to protect them were too stupid, greedy or lazy to do their jobs.

To the soldiers and civilians who died in Marawi died a meaningful death. They died because by some stroke of misfortune, opportunistic criminals claiming to be religious fighters chose to attack their city. They died with the debt of gratitutude of the Filipino people because it was a sacrifice made to ensure the integrity of our survival as a state. It shows the world Filipino heroism. It was a selfless act of nationalism by both soldiers and civilians. And despite that, our President had a very difficult time explain the deaths to their families. While Pnoy only managed to tell the victims of Mamasapano, "patas lang tayo!".

Raissa, do not compare Marawi to Mamasapano or Luneta. Not now when our soldiers are in the cusps of neutralizing the enemy. Do not demoralize them because we need their morale to free our land. You only need to post this status to feed your reptilian stomach. Hinintay mo sana matapos bago ka magtalak.

But we cannot expect chivalry from a cold-blooded reptile.
