List of SC Justices Who Voted In Favor of Martial Law in Mindanao (11-3-1 Ruling)


President Rody Duterte emerged victorious on his decision to declare Martial Law in Mindanao as the Supreme Court released the 11-3-1 ruling, or a majority vote in favor of the President's decision affirming the declaration of Martial Law.


The decision was released by High Court on Day 43 of the 60-Day Martial Rule in Mindanao. Based upon the results of the ruling, eleven (11) Justices voted to uphold the president's declaration over all of Mindanao as noted by Supreme Court spokesperson Theodore Te during a press briefing.

A total of three justices voted to limit the declaration of Martial Law in Marawi City only, the conflict zone while a lone Justice, Associate Justice Marivic Leonen voted to nullify the proclamation altogether.

Although the Supreme Court did not disclose details on how the Justices voted, several sources revealed that the vote was as follows:
