List of Representatives Who Voted Against the Extension of Martial Law in Mindanao


Pres. Rody Duterte asked both the House of Representatives and the Philippine Senate to extend the controversial Martial Law in Mindanao which the opposition called as an abuse of power of the President and the administration as a whole. The majority bloc in both the Congress and Senate agreed to Pres. Duterte's call to extend Martial Law after voting 261-18 in favor of the extension.


Most of the lawmaker members of the Philippine Congress voted in favor of the extension of Martial Law but a total of 14 congressmen/congresswomen voted against the Extension until December 31, 2017.

Netizens were quick to react with the decision of the 14 Representatives but most of them also expected the names of lawmakers who will come out to vote against the Extension of Martial Law in Mindanao.

There are netizens also who noted that they are now memorizing the names of the congressmen/congresswomen who voted against the extension of Martial Law which most people in the southern island of the Philippines welcomed positively.
