List of Pres. Duterte's Achievements in His First Year as President of the Philippines


President Rody Duterte is considered by the elite as an underdog leading the country but most ordinary people felt that the President is the right person to lead the country in this times of crisis. He could be the most controversial but his list of achievements in just one year of service is indeed commendable.


The political enemies of the former Mayor of Davao City with the help of some mainstream media considered him as a threat to their long grip of power as they keeps on criticizing his programs and most often pinpointing his shortcoming as a leader.

Despite the controversies of Pres. Duterte he proved once and for that he is the right person for the job and most people agreed with his iron fists rule as he really performed well as the country's chief executive.

Anti-Drug Campaign:
P12.6 Billion worth of shabu confiscated
1,308,078 drug users and pushers surrendered
63,926 Anti-Drug operations Conducted
86,933 drug personalities arrested
3,200 drug personalities who died in anti-drug operation.
300 government workers arrested in Anti-Drug Operations (142 government employees, 135 elected officials and 23 uniformed personnel)

159 dismantled dens and clandestine laboratories
Crime rate down
82% of Metro Manila residents feel safer because of war against illegal drugs.
Releasing the names of hundreds of public officials allegedly involved in illegal drugs
Mega Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation Center in Nueva Ecija built
To prevent drug trade inside the Bilibid Prison, PNP Special Action Forces (SAF) deployed to guard the national penitentiary

Social Services:
President Rodrigo Duterte signed executive order no 6. on oct 14,2016 which instutionalized the 8888 Citizen’s Complaint Hotline and Complaint Center.
911 National Emergency Hotline launched nationwide.
Implementing Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.
Duterte secured some $35-B in trade and aid privileges from his visit in other countries (21 trips, 17 countries)

Increasing the rates of Combat Duty Pay and Combant Incentive pay of the AFP and extending the same allowances to the PNP.

Pres. Duterte's achievement in just one of service as the country's chief executive is commendable by most ordinary Filipinos but some members of the opposition already expressed their disappointment and gave the President a low grade for his first year. This lawmakers includes Sen. Risa Hontiveros, who noted that the first year of Pres. Duterte is a "dangerous year to be a woman," while Sen. De Lima described Pres. Duterte's first year as full of lies and fake news.

Meanwhile, several allies of Pres. Duterte gave him a high grade, Sen. Pimentel gives the President a grade of 8.5 to 9 for his performance, Sen. Tito Sotto also noted that Pres. Duterte deserved 8 out of 10 grade for addressing the problem against illegal drugs.
