President Rodrigo Duterte indeed worked as hard as possible to fulfill his campaign promise to all Filipinos, it took two years before the "No Age Limit at Work" was finally realized.
The "No Age Discrimination Law" is now a law, various government agencies are now finalizing the rules and regulations in implementing a landmark bill under the administration of Pres. Rody Duterte.
The Republic Act No. 10911 (RA 10911) or an Act Prohibiting Discrimination Against Any Individual on Accounts of Age has already lapsed into a bill and is now a law.
This is indeed a very good news for all Filipinos particularly those Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and workers in their 40's, 50's and 60's who are still able to find a suitable job for themselves and their families.
According to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), by order of Pres. Duterte, they vowed to enforce the implementation of the Anti-Age Discrimination Act or the "No Discrimination Law."
The new law prohibits employment age discrimination or turning down an applicant on the basis of his age or being "old."
In an interview with the media, DOLE Undersecretary Joel Manglungsod was quoted as saying "Hindi mag-aatubili and Department of Labor and Employment, yung strict implementation ng batas na ito."
