Pres. Duterte Bids Farewell to Davao City Employees with Cash Gifts


Outgoing Mayor of Davao City and incoming President of the Republic of the Philippines, Pres. Rody Duterte bids farewell to Davao City employees as he attended the flag raising ceremony as Mayor of Davao City. During the farewell speech of Mayor Duterte he surprised the employees with an unexpected cash gift also called educational assistance.



The 71-year-old Mayor of Davao City delivered another one-hour speech filled with hopes and jokes intended not only for the people of Davao City but for the entire Philippines. He also reiterated that he will do what he promised during his campaign.

The Davao City employees were surprised upon the announcement of Mayor Duterte and they were delighted when the incoming President stated that he will give all regular employees P10,000 each while those under job order program will take home P4,000 each.

Davao City Administrator Melchor Quitain noted that the money or the educational assistance that balloons to P65 million will be released soon to all employees of Davao City Hall.

Aside from giving an hour-long speech, Pres. Rody Duterte also gave special recognition to City Administrator Jesus Melchor Quitain and Execuive Assistant, now Presidential Management Staff Secretary Bong Go, for their exemplary public service to the City of Davao and its people.
