Pres. Duterte Appoints Former Iligan City Mayor Franklin Quijano as CEO of PHIVIDEC


The very first President from Mindanao, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte appointed former Iligan City Mayor Franklin Quijano as administrator and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Philippine Veterans Investment Development Corporation (PHIVIDEC) Industrial Authority.


Former Mayor Quijano, a lawyer by profession was also designated as member of the PHIVIDEC Board of Directors. The appointment of Atty. Franklin Quijano was signed Pres. Rody Duterte last July 14, 2017.

Atty. Quijano was born in Dansalan, now Marawi City, he finished his Elementary studies as Class Valedictorian. In High School he finished as second honorable mention (La Salle-Iligan), and Cum Laude in AB Economics at University of San Carlos in Cebu City.


The former Mayor of Iligan City was awarded with "The Most Outstanding City Mayor of the Philippines, Local Government Leadership Award," during the year 2002. Atty. Quijano served as Iligan City Mayor from 1998-2004.

Mayor Franklin Quijano is the Regional Party Chairman of the Partido Demokratikong Pilipino (PDP)- LABAN or Region X. During the 2016 Presidential Elections, former Mayor Quijano was able to deliver the winning votes for the President through his full support of the campaign.

Atty. Quijano is also a staunch advocate for the shift to Federalism, one of the priority political agendas of Pres. Duterte and his allies in Congress and the Philippine Senate.
