Pro-Duterte Bloggers: How to Help the Family of Fallen Marawi City Soldiers

Pro-Duterte blogger Krizette Laureta Chu in coordination with fellow DDS supporters and social media bloggers launched a campaign on social media as they wants everybody to join their cause of helping the families of fallen Marawi City soldiers.

Krizette Laureta Chu with the help of some of the countries most prominent bloggers made an initiative to directly help the families of all the soldiers, policemen and members of the Armed Forces who lost their lives during the siege of Marawi.

According to Chu, she wanted to directly help the fallen Marawi soldiers, directly bypassing organizations if possible. She also revealed the reasons why she wants to bypass an organization because of administrative and overhead expenses, as well as paperworks, so she wanted to see the money directly given to the beneficiaries.

Here's the Complete Statement of Krizette Laureta Chu:

HOW TO HELP THE FALLEN MARAWI SOLDIERS' FAMILIES BY SENDING MONEY OR HELP DIRECTLY TO THEM.

Hi, all. Please read thoroughly, as this is important. And please check screen caps. When done, kindly share.

I am so sorry it took a long time for me to get back to you re helping the fallen Marawi soldiers' families directly. As you may know, I wanted to help the bereaved families directly, bypassing organizations if possible.

I have reasons for bypassing orgs, in my experience, orgs 1. Have administrative and overhead expenses, and part of your money goes to paying for these expenses 2. There's paperwork 3. I want to see money directly given to the beneficiaries.

I'm not saying don't donate to orgs.Because any help is appreciated. But I just want to explain because some people have commented before on why I don't just send help via an org.

THIS IS ONLY AN OPTION FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO HELP BY SENDING MONEY DIRECTLY. If you want to help through orgs, bless you. There are also those of us who would do it the old fashioned, "abot" "abuloy" way. (I will pay for administrative and courier fee if sending through Cebuana, etc, myself.)

But with the conflict on the ground and the ongoing fighting, it was very difficult to round up the contacts.

I asked my friend Loraine Balita for help because she interviewed some of the widows of our soldiers in Marawi for a story for Manila Bulletin.

I asked Doc Lorraine Marie T. Badoy to link me up with somebody on the ground who could directly give me the numbers.

Sir Joby, who is with the army, has been very helpful. He initially entertained the idea of us just sending money to an organization, but he found out that the organization requires a lot of paperwork. I also wanted to be able to message the families directly, to see that they actually are the ones who receive the money, and no amount at all is going to administrative cost.

And so I am grateful that I now have the addresses and numbers of the families our soldiers left behind. As there are casualties every day, we will continue to strive to update the list.

So if you want to help the families directly and want it to go through me, please message me directly.

Those who have messaged me before but I couldn't reply because I had no news for you yet, I will be getting in touch shortly.

Here are some FAQs:

1. HOW WILL I KNOW THE MONEY WILL REACH FAMILIES THEMSELVES?

First, I will set up a page just for the updates and the callouts. I will start a group chat that includes donors and send you pictures and other documentary evidence of the families receiving the money. All proof will also be included in the page. Page is:

https://www.facebook.com/For-the-Fallen-Soldiers-of-Marawi…/

All info uploaded there.

2. HOW WILL YOU SEND IT TO THEM?

Because I have their numbers, I can contact them directly.

I will take care of sending it to them via bank deposits, Lhuillier, Cebuana, etc. I imagine not all of them have bank accounts but many of them will receive money through couriers and Pera Padala.

To ensure that all your money is earmarked only for the families, I will take care of all administrative costs. That includes load to call and text them, as well as the fee you pay when we send via Lhuillier, etc. i will pay for those.

For example, I send one family P5,000, and the remittance fee is P200, I will take care of paying the P200 so it won't be charged to the fund for our heroes.

3. WHAT IS YOUR ACCOUNTABILITY?

I will create a file that I will update to show the deposits as well as how much I have given the families, as well as which families. This file is uploaded on the page.

Please note that I opened an ATM account and so will be able to get the statement of account twice a week only.

4. HOW WILL YOU DIVIDE THE MONEY?

Since I don't know how much I am getting yet, I am prioritizing families who have children or who are in more dire straits.

You will have to trust me on this, and I am sorry in advance to those families who will be getting money later, or if funds run out, not at all.

For example, Sgt Tago-on, who teaches kids in Mindanao pag Hindi combat time, left behind 6 kids, and his wife is pregnant with the seventh.

Hayaan niyo po ako na unahin sila. And I will work my way down depending on need and number of children. It will be my discretion po, and if you give money through me, you will have to trust that I will do the right thing.

5. WHAT ABOUT PLEDGES, LIKE SCHOLARSHIPS?

Kung scholarships po at monthly stipend, I will ask for the permission of the widows if you can contact them directly so you can give them the money monthly directly.

Please note that this is a commitment. Do so if you can commit.

If you want to send a big amount and want to pay them monthly, we can discuss arrangements with a bank and we can just provide ATM where you can auto pay them monthly. I will help with arrangements.

As for donations in kind, my friend Kaye sends items directly to them. So I can connect you to Kaye.

6. UNTIL WHEN ARE YOU DOING THIS?

I will start disbursing money in the next two weeks, so I can wait for you to deposit money and I can divide it according to the amount that's been given me. Kung P20,000 Lang ang Malikom ko, I will have to divide it accordingly. If it's P200,000 same process.

As to until when, until there are donors and there are casualties.

7. DO YOU HAVE FUNDRAISING EXPERIENCE?

Yes, for Yolanda victims. I singlehandedly ran Waray Bayaay--when I say singlehandedly it doesn't mean I didn't get help, it just means I was the lone admin behind it.

At the height of Yolanda donations, I was able to fill two 10 or 16 wheeler wing vans to go to Leyte every week for 3 months. Philippine Airlines also gave me one ton of free shipment a week for emergency items. I also helped the Yuchengco Foundation and other private individuals disburse college and grade school scholarship among my fellow Warays. This March, we had our first graduates from the scholarship.

We also provided not just relief but rehab efforts, as well as livelihood (boats and sewing machines)

Some of those efforts are chronicled in my page www.facebook.com/WarayBayaay.

I did the bulk of work from November 2013 to June 2014. Some projects are still going on now.

I will tap the same people I asked help from, but please let's pray for wisdom and guidance so we can send our little help with maximum effect.

8. WHERE DO I SEND THE MONEY?

I just opened a BDO account just for this, so hindi mahalo sa milyones ko.charot. All the money in this account, apart from the opening balance, is dedicated to the soldiers of Marawi.

You may send it to:
