Dyson of UK to Invest $70 Million in the Philippines for Factory Expansion


One of Europe's leading conglomerates, British firm Dyson will be investing a total of $70 million by end of 2017 for the production of digital motors and assembly of finished products for the local and export markets.


According to Jim Royan COO Dyson Operations Pte. Ltd., said that the company has already invested $50 million last year and another $20 million to the Philippines by end of this year to bring its production lines to four.

The company's local contract manufacturer is producing the final product hair dryers and cordless vacuum cleaners. During the first year of Dyson in the Philippines, the company achieved a million unit mark but expects between 2.5 million units this year globally.


Due to the new investments poured to Dyson of UK in the Philippines, its existing 320 workers at its plant in Carmelray Industrial Park in Calamba, Laguna will be expanded to 400 by end of this year and 500 by 2018.

According to Dyson of UK they chose the Philippines because they are confident they can find talent and train people to ensure quality and bring production to its desired volume.
