Rep. Elago Tells Pres. Duterte that Even If He Could Kill the 4 Million Addicts He Will Still Fail

Kabataan Party-List congresswoman Rep. Sarah Elago made one of the most devastating statement on her career as a public servant when he told Pres. Rody Duterte that even if he could kill the 4 million addicts in the Philippines he will still fail.

In a statement released to Bandera, the party-list representative was quoted as saying "Hindi pa rin makakamit ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang kanyang pangarap para sa susunod na henerasyon ng bansa kahit mapatay pa nito ang sinasabi nitong 4 milyong adik sa Pilipinas," Elago said.

According to partylist Rep. Elago the reasons why Pres. Duterte will fail is because of the fact that the President did not focus on the real problem, poverty which is also also the real reasons of hunger and why people resort to selling of illegal drugs.

Rep. Elago added further that "What will happen if he kills those four million people he claims are addicted to drugs or are drug pushers? Nothing. Because he did not solve the root of the problem: poverty, joblessness, landlessness. As long as these remain, he can’t win this war,” Elago stated.

The Kabataan Partylist representative also noted that until now unemployment rate is still a problem with more than 12 million but the Duterte admin failed to solve the problem and give job opportunities to those unemployed.

Rep. Elago also accused Pres. Duterte of not caring for the poor, "His His statements are chilling. The President really does not care for the poor. He targets them on his war on drugs, yet he does not do anything to uplift their lives to keep them away from such vices,” Elago stated.
