Bagyong Karen Storm Signals and Hourly Updates Released by PAGASA (Oct. 16, 2016)


The newest tropical disturbance that hits the Philippines today, Bagyong Karen made landfall at around 2:30 AM today(16 October 2016) based from Tagaytay Doppler Radar according to the latest update released by the country's weather bureau, PAGASA.



According to the latest official weather bulletin released by PAGASA, at around 2:00 AM, Tropical Cyclone Karen (International Name: Sarika) continues to move in a West Northwest direction and is about to make a landfall over Baler, Aurora.

At around 1:00 AM today, the eye of Bagyong Karen was located based on all available data including Tagaytay Doppler Weather at 50 km East of Baler, Aurora.

Bagyong Karen has a maximum sustained winds of up to 150kph near the center and gustiness of up to 210 kph. It is forecast to move West Northwest at 22 kph.

PAGASA also noted that within 24 hours, the tropical storm will be at 350 km West of Dagupan City, Pangasinan and within 48 hours (Tuesday morning) the weather disturbance will be at 930 km West of Baguio City, Benguet (Outside PAR).

This coming Wednesday, Bagyong Karen will be at 1,285 km West of Sinait, Ilocos Sur (Outside PAR) and on Thursday morning the typhoon will be at 1,800 km West Northwest of Sinait, Ilocos Sur or outside of PAR.
