20 Dutch Companies Visits the Philippines for Business Opportunities Under Pres. Duterte

One of Europe's most powerful economies, The Netherlands wanted to invest in the Philippines under the administration of Pres. Rody Duterte. Despite the not-so-good news regarding the leadership of Pres. Duterte a total of 20 Dutch companies are here in the Philippines to look for business opportunity in the country.

Before the arrival of the Dutch companies representatives, the national government of the Netherlands invited some of their internationally-recognized companies to invest in the Philippines by looking for partner with Filipino firms.

The Dutch delegations visiting the Philippines are looking forward for business opportunities in various sectors such as infrastructure, water and agriculture, and other projects as revealed by Marten van den Berg, the director-general for foreign economic relations at the Dutch foreign ministry.

In an interview with ANC, Martin van den Berg was quoted as saying "What I will tell the Dutch companies is please go to the Philippines, see the opportunities. In the end, it’s up to them to decide. We’re very happy to facilitate the trade, investment opportunities,” he told ANC’s “Market Edge with Cathy Yang.”

The official from the Netherlands also added that "There is a lot of noise, but we always look into the real policies,” he said, citing the government’s plans to sustain economic growth.

Although there is no deals or signed agreement yet with Dutch companies and the Philippine government or any Filipino companies, there will be follow-up meetings in Manila which are already scheduled by the Dutch government.
