In an exclusive interview with some Malacanang reporters, Pres. Duterte said that the business firms have to "do away with contractualization" and should not wait for the government to inspect their respective offices.
The 71-year-old Pres. Dutert was quoted as saying "My message to them is very simple: Do not wait for us to inspect… Do not wait for me to catch you in the act because I will be unforgiving. You will not only lose your money, you will also lose your pants," the President said.
"I will have no tolerance here. That's my promise to the people and I will do it. Stop that and pay your employees what is due to them. Stop contractualization, it will not do good to our country," he added.
Pres. Duterte also noted that the would not give any preferential treatment to big companies like the world-renowned SM Investments Corporations owned by the country's richest man Henry Sy Sr.
According to Pres. Duterte if SM would insist on labor contractualization, he will be sorry because even SM he will try to close once they will not fulfill on ending the controversial "endo."
The President also added that he can even close the Republic of the Philippines to fulfill his promise of ending contractualization.
The former mayor of Davao City also urged the contractual employees to dial the newly active hotline number "8888" to issue their complaint against the erring business companies.
