The 22-year-old Miss Maria Gigante represents Cebu City and before her stint in the most popular beauty contest in the country, she joined Miss Cebu 2013 and Reyna ng Aliwan wherein she was adjudges as second runner-up in both beauty pageants.
Miss Maria Gigante, is the proud daughter of Capt. Lindo Gigante, one of Sta. Fe's most prominent personality when it comes to the tourism industry of Bantayan island, joined the Kagandahang Flores camp in preparation for the highly anticipated coronation night which will be held this coming April 17, 2016.
In an interview with Cebu Daily News, the 5-foot-6-inches tall Maria Gigante was so grateful for having a family in the Kagandahang Flores camp of both Cebu and Manila. She was quoted as saying “In preparation for the screening, I find myself blessed to have found a family in the Kagandahang Flores Camp of both Cebu and Manila. I am also thankful for my family’s support. I would go nuts without them,” Gigante told CDN.
According to Binibini Pilipinas No. 36, Maria Gigante the best part of joining the Bb. Pilipinas beauty pageant happened behind the scenes, as she saw the hard work, discipline and fighting spirit of her fellow Binibini aspirants and her journey with fellow candidates is not for herself but with everyone in Cebu.
Maria Gigante is also a student of the University of San Carlos, the same school with fellow Binibini candidate Apriel Smith. She is taking up Bachelor of Philosophy in USC. Before her Bb. Pilipinas stint she was seen in various commercials. She was also featured in the viral video with Matteo Guidicelli's hit music video on YouTube title "Ipapadama Na Lang."
