The tough-talking Mayor of Davao City, considered as one of the most popular candidate among the masses and students as well as the social media communities from different parts of the Philippines and abroad stated in an interview with the media that he don't like "slow internet."

In a viral story shared on Facebook recently, Mayor Rodrigo Duterte who served as the longest reigning mayor of Davao City, he once approached the telecommunications company in his city for a direct 911 number but they refused.

The mayor was quoted as saying "I wanted 911 sa Davao kagaya nung sa sine para pagtawag nila "911 what's your emergency?" Eh ayaw ibigay ng Globe at Smart, sabi kailangan pa daw dadaan pa ng protocol na 09---, sabi ko "No! I want 9-1-1! Naintindihan nyo yan?"

Mayor Duterte also revealed that he was later approached by the Vice President of Globe, Rody Salalima and Mayor Duterte said, "Rod, ang gusto ko 9-1-1" Sabi n'ya hindi pwede kasi kailangan pa daw i-reconfigure ang mga computer.

The mayor responded with a statement to both Smart and Globe: "Ano kaya kung pabagsakin ko yang towers ninyo? How much will it cost you to rebuilt it? The major telecom companies responded "Okay po, Mayor."

The netizens who shared the story stated further that if Mayor Duterte will be elected as the next president of the Philippines he will surely fulfill his promise.

Mayor Duterte once said: "Kaya kung ako maging Presidente wala ako panahon makipagdaldalan, kakausapin ko 'yan silang telecommunication people sasabihin ko. Ano bang problema ninyo? Why can't you make it faster? Ano ba ang diperensya?"
